Embracing the six-yard wonder as daily wear gets easy if you’re part of this global movement which is attracting women of all age groups

The movement has gained a lot of momentum and now has over 10,000 members globally, with women sharing their daily sari looks and stories. The group not only celebrates the beauty and versatility of the sari, but also encourages women to experiment with different draping styles and fabrics. The sari becomes a way for women to express their individuality and creativity through their sari choices.

To revive the tradition of wearing a sari on a daily basis, two friends made a pact to wear saris 100 times a year. This was in 2015 which soon evolved into a full-fledged movement, where women from all over the world began to share their sari stories. The garment became a medium for many to join the campaign and show their love for it.

The movement has also helped in promoting handloom saris, with many women opting for these traditional, handwoven saris over mass-produced ones. The handloom industry, which has been struggling in recent times, has received a boost thanks to the campaign.

The sari, which has been an integral part of Indian culture for centuries, has now become a symbol of empowerment for women all over the world. The movement not only celebrates the sari, but also the strength and diversity of women. As the group’s motto goes, “One woman, one sari, one world,” the sari brings women together, regardless of their age, location, or background, to embrace their cultural roots and celebrate their femininity.

Are you a sari lover looking to embrace the traditional garment on a daily basis? Join us in reviving the tradition of wearing a sari on a daily basis, just like the women who started the Global 100 Sarees Pact in November 2016. Share your sari stories and show your love for the six-yard wonder by wearing it at least 100 times in a year. This movement is open to women of all ages and is a great way to celebrate the intricate weaving skills and fusion of fabrics that India has to offer. Let's bring the sari back into our daily wardrobes and make it the dominant attire it deserves to be.
