Pochampally weaves artistic masterpieces: US Consul General

US Consul General in Hyderabad Katherine Hadda on Saturday felt that the traditional Pochampally weaves were artistic masterpieces.

Along with her family members, Hadda toured Pochampally mandal, which is the hub of the State's handloom sector. She first visited the Pochampally Handloom Park at Kanumukkala village and examined the process of weaving of Ikkat saris. She interacted with weavers and showed interest to know about the process involved in the weaving of saris, including warping, dying and weaving.

She also interacted with the women who were working at the park and enquired with them about the nature of work they were doing there. She also enquired with the management about the facilities being provided to the weavers and the marketing facility for their products.

Later, Hadda visited offices of the Pochampally Handloom Cooperative Society and the Tie and Dye Association at Pochampally. Read More
